  • Strangely in some ways it was one of the most interesting tags I've got. I never go to Acton or Shepherds Bush so it was interesting to see what was out there.

    I passed a road called "Wulfstan Street" which is suggestive of something Old English, I'm going to look it up anyway.

  • By old English you mean Saxon?
    Wulf is dead common in Saxon histories so you need to check nearby street names for a theme. If former monastery land look for previous Abbotts, saints or bishops. Otherwise you could be looking for Ealdorman of an area of Wessex/Mercia associated with that part of London.

    And did you see Henchman Street or Erconwald st? All part of a 30s estate in East Acton built for railway workers

    And the streets are all named after London bishops
