• I generally try to keep a pretty even volume throughout the mix. I'll try to normalise to -0.3dB and see how that works. It sound similar to something i've tried previously, there's just so many different ways to skin a cat. Thanks for your help.

  • Normalising basically turns the volume of everything up so that the highest peak (probably snare/kick hits in a punchy track) hits your designated limit (in this case -0.3db). You can normalise to 0.0db but some converters don't play nicely with the absolute max.
