  • Another frame finishing question (is there a DIY painters thread I've missed?) -

Can I use ordinary solder to fill a small dent? I know it's not as hard as silver solder /brazing, and will melt if powdercoated, but that's not going to happen. I have it at home, and maybe less messy than using a filler. Wondering whether I need to remove the existing primer for it to stick properly or what else to do to make it less likely to fall out.

  • I think soft solder is unlikely to stick to the frame, some type of two part epoxy applied in small quantities may be a better solution.

  • Like araldite? Or is anything that comes in two parts with a hardener an epoxy?
Was looking at Isopon P38 filler since you can get it in small packs.
