i have ordered steel free hub for mine. it comes with 4 pawls as opposed to the 2 pawls in the aluminium free hub body - this will make MOAR noise and give better engagement and reliability

Yes.
I have hope hubs on all my bikes, but the aluminum freehub bodies are made of some sort of brie. I've slowly been converting them to Steel ones and they are much less scarred up than the ali ones they have replaced.
