We don't need to delve into exotica, many single fixed hubs build up dished, including Campag and Shimano

The first Schwalbe Pro One I fitted was super-tight, to the point I was worried I'd damage it with lever getting it on. For the 2nd one, I let it soak in a bucket of hot water for a few mins, which made it a whole lot more compliant. Worth a try.

Tried it already. No avail!

Are you finishing at the valve? That lets you maximise getting most of the tyre bead in the valley of the rim.
If it's fresh tape, fitting a tyre (that you can get on) and tube for a few hours may compress the tape onto the rim a little bit more.

Heh - it barely goes on without any tape at all and no valve!
And now I can't get the bloody thing off!

Recommended products to fix tubeless tyres? Just got a big shard of glass trough and I neglected putting sealant for ages, would like to plug the hole anyways

Either a patch on the inside of the tyre, rubberised superglue in the cut, or tyre worms.
Or a combination of the above.

I'll have a look, cheers

Mounted a g-one to an R460 with little trouble, but can't seem to get the bead to stick on a HED Belgium (not plus) even with the inner tube trick. Any suggestions? I only did one lap with the Notubes tape, maybe another layer is necessary?
(Just using a track pump btw, may try the bottle trick or get a chuck for a compressor)

Moar tape

*havent tried Mavic UST

No rim tape on Fulcrums...

I've had enough with the Light Bicycle rim not seating tyres properly so want to test tubeless with it before I sell it off or rebuild it.
Anyone got a tubeless tyre they know works with LightBicycle 65mm U rims or perhaps just a general recommendation?
I've got some of that yellow tape already.
Guess I need a tubeless valve of some sort? What sort?
What else do I need? Slime? I'd prefer to get it working without liquid for now.
Can it be done with a normal track pump? I don't want to invest heavily in this shit just yet.

Often you need sealant to help seal the tyre in place. I am in Putney tonight, and have a tyre and tubeless pump. We could try it without sealant to see if the beads pop into place

Ah, cheers, the bike's not actually back together yet so I was just going to muck about at home with it.
You have a portable tubeless pump?
Is my riding/sanity going to be improved or damaged going tubeless do you think?

I drove to london for two weeks and leave again tomorrow. I bring tubeless pump and spare tyre just in case. (Never had to use them)
Your sanity is up for debate anyway. My experience of tubeless tyres is "what's not to like?"
-
• #921
What's not to like? Tyres popping off rims, mid-ride. Sealant spraying over everything. Not being able to get tyres to inflate without special equipment. Limited selection of tyres.
But I'm tired of this rim being a dick so I'll give tubeless a go if it means I don't have to rebuild/sell a wheel.

Never had a tyre pop off.

If the rim is troubles with a tube in it, it's gonna be worse without. I reckon. Zero science to back that up.

Others have. I've read this thread. It's a tale of woe.

The rim requires lots of pressure to get tyre seated and needs valve extender.
If I use different tyre (tubeless) it might seat without issue since there's no tube pushing it out and it's a different tyre.
Also, no valve extender required.
Some weird MTB / Cross people do this - it's why Surly make a 135 ISO 6 bolt single fixed threaded hub.
