Could work

Chasing those pipes / electricity cables through the floorboards is so smart. Mine are just tacked to the wall. Infuriating.

We need to replace the decking at the top of our garden, about 4x4m. It's rotten as fuck. I am completely incompetent when it comes to DIY (painting a bedroom ended up with me having to bleed the central heating, don't ask)
Anyone recommend someone in SE that could do this and not charge £4k+ we've been quoted already?

Is it just the boards or have the joists gone as well. If just the boards then it's a simple cut and screw down job that you or any odd job man could do.
-

It looks like some of the joists too. Seems like they've not been raised off the ground so have rotted through. Plus it's got a shed on top of some of the worst boards so that complicates thingns further.
I need a new shed anyway.

Ages ago there was talk of a cheap online company for kitchens, looking for a few cabinets for the utility room, anyone got any links?
-

That is where current plan is, but was hoping to have another site for comparison, one where I can just select my cupboards online etc and not have to deal with showrooms, its only for the utility\dog room so not looking for top spec...

Howdens?

Will be getting a price from Howdens as well, there was definitely an online only company that some people were recommending but for the life of me can't remember who it was.

Similar question but bathrooms. Suggestions for cheap but not shit bathroom suites (and not shit people to fit one in central London)?
-
• #11495
We have just bought 3 bathrooms worth of stuff, not in London, so can't help with suppliers, but we have used Vitra Milton range everywhere, its not cheap bog in a box stuff but also not £500 a toiler.

Star, that is the exact one I was looking at, couldn't find it!

Anyone good with sourcing roof leaks?
Had a solid roof installed on a former conservatory about 2 years ago. Both sides developed leaks shortly after.
Builders then relaid the roof last year under guarantee admitting they hadn't put in the flashing correctly.
All been well till a few weeks ago when heavy rain appears to have got through on one side and left a large damp patch which is again damaging the interior paintwork and pissing off my missus.
Exterior brick work has patches of white.
I've had a look and cleaned out a bit of gunk under the lead flashing but couldn't see any obvious entry points.
Our landscape gardener has taken a look and suggested that the lead flashing isn't big enough.
Does anyone know if that's correct? Or could I seal the flashing to the roof somehow instead?
I will get the hose out and give it a fuller test but I haven't got the time to do a major repair myself.
Some pix of flashing below:

I can see now why decorators have those big fuck off lights. I'm lost in a room of white.
The novelty has totally worn off, will be getting quotes for the next room!
