Stay away from that frame with a drill! If you want to fit a rear brake you can get ones that clamp on.
Very tempted. Any shots of the frame built up? Although thinking this is too nice for my commute.

Very true. However I'm looking for a frame to replace mine while it goes for a full restore for 6-8 weeks, and this is more than I was looking to spend. Decisions....

For Sale : Mercian Super Vigorelli 631 Frame & Fork

I am selling my custom Mercian Super Vigorelli . Reynolds 631 with Ultegra headset.
Size wise its c t c 60cm and top tube 59.5cm but as a guide I am 5ft 11" ( mercian sizing is done with a small amount of seat post) and it fits me perfectly. Fork is drilled but not the rear. Geometry wise Mercian relaxed it slightly from track as it was going to be road only but they kept it fairly tight in the rear to keep it lively. It will take a 23c tyre fine , 25c is pretty tight depending on the make of tyre.
It rides lovely , super comfortable but responsive , it will be a shame to see this go.
Its painted in gunmetal and has the Mercian gothic lettering. I have the build sheet that I can provide if interested.
It does have marks from use as you expect . There is small chip on the downtube from where the brake calliper hit and the rear stays have marks from where I had clip on guards fitted. I have tried to show these marks the best I can and I am sure with some touch up paint you could tidy them up.
Price : £275 and pick up from SW London or possibly Herne Hill on a Saturday.Can post at cost but would prefer not to.
