I am sure S75s are fine (as many people here atest to) - I am just saying I would never buy a square taper crank again. there is a reason this technology has been left behind in all other disciplines of cycling....
if you think about the actual forces transferred from crank arm to BB, an interface with a higher surface area (and therefore distribution of force) will always last longer. it is actually very simple - hence manufacturers moving away from square taper, leaving it for the likes of cheap shit halfords carreras
