If your ride heavily an ISO crank on a JIS bottom for years, it's normal that it fail. The square isn't exactly the same, and don't allow the crankarms to go on correctly..
I've seen plenty of GXP bearings died due to salty winter slush in Montreal (not only GXP I admit) or due to overtightening, maybe it fucked up my opinion..
I would love to try Omnium with CK or hope cups and Zen chainring, this should be ace
There is 2 square taper standard:
-ISO (njs stuff, campagnolo..)
-JIS (most shimano stuff etc)

Using SG75 BB & Campagnolo BB combinated with SG75 since years without issues
Maybe newest BB are stiffer, but GXP bb aren't revognized for their longevity
