Are people really snapping square taper BBs regularly from street riding ?
I've ridden 40,000 plus miles in the last 4 years on square taper without issues, and countless years of mountain biking before that, mainly on square taper, no problem. I also used the shimano hollow tech stuff when it first came out, because it looked flash/new it might have been stiff, but not massively so, the bearing life wasn't great compare to square taper.
no I never snapped a pair. the non drive became progressively less "square". once they start loosening its a 1 way road for square taper cranks. complete crap 2/10 would never ever ever buy again
