Principia 700-first road bike

Just recently acquired Danish hand made double butted Principia 700, built with almost full Ultegra group​set. Paint is beautiful, grading, dark blue to bright blue, from front to rear. Unfortunately many chips covered with more or less fitting nail polish.

Cranks are Shimano 105 and that's somewhere on the list of changes what are need to be done with this bike. First need to source nice, sturdy wheelset as bike is abused in the name of Berlin Deliveroo. Saddle is comfortable as none before but it needs swapping too, defo not Flite as I have bad memories with them. Seatpost needs to go aswell to make space for something either comfy carbon or fancy silver to match drive-. From details, I'm thinking about swapping cables colour to white.

If anyone knows anything interesting about the frame or company making it I'll more than happy to read it. Thanks.

Principia is/was a Danish brand. Considered some of the best alu frames made, up there with ye olde cannondales.

New wheelset and SPD pedals. There's chrome ITM quill stem waiting for new handlebars. The plan is to replace all the black parts of finishing kit to silver to match decals.

That's nice, a quill will suit the frame much better I think. Have you thought about your saddle position and if it's where it needs to be in the pic, an inline seatpost?

Inline seatpost is the next step. I had look around in local shops but the only inline ones the got are oversized which means I need to look through eBay and here. I guess I'm forced to pricey Thomson and it slows down things a little bit.

27.2? I have a bontrager inline I could let go of it it was any use to you?

Kalloy Uno comes in 27.2mm and silver if you still wanted to go that way.

So.. Little updates. I was brake checked and didn't pass the test. Went into the rear of a car, the driver fled. Clearance between DT and wheel magically got much tighter, fork was done, luckily not the frame. Got one from a C'dale in very not fitting colour, so soo it's going to be sanded down to raw finish. New stem with a different position as my position on bike changed.

Now I'm looking for some compact bars, so if you have any recommendations please HMU
