I have a feeling that I'm as tall as your leg. Also another, bit better pic of mine, cause why not ;) Love that bike so much, i just wonder for how long.
Seeing something else than tarmac under the rubber - priceless. (uploading pic changes its orientation?)

just the person I was looking for!
how wide are your tyres? I'm using 28c currently as that's all that could fit on the Goldsprint and I just swapped the parts over. Do you have any mudguard ambitions? my frame has eyelets on the trackends and inside of the fork (I'm assuming all do)and finally where's that path? looks fun!

Hi there!
I was thinking of what them little holes in the fork might be :). No mudguards for me, at least for now. Tyres are paselas 38c, and there is still fair amount of clearance since i moved my rear wheel back to the very end of trackends with half link since that photo, but i don't know if its enough for mudguards as i never had any. It would be a tight fit but possible is my guess.
Path is in Stretford, next to river Mersey, Manchester. From this rainy morning:

cool! could you post a picture of your fork clearance with 38c when you get the chance?
here's goldsprint and surly with same 28c tyres.

I had 32c gravelkings in my Steamroller with full guards, not a surly fork though

pic?
surly site claims 32c + full guards are fine. 38c without

Thorn Audax fork I think -

Gonna have a Surly Steamroller frameset (baby blue) in 59cm including tall stack silver stem and headset, will try and find a silver seatpost to go with it.
73 degree seat tube mean cant move saddle forward enough.
Frustrating as it's such a nice bike to ride, no bullshit, it work, it handle snappy enough but still pretty stable and stiff enough to do some hill climb too.

So that hole on the inside of the fork is an eyelet? Looks large enough but doesn't look tapped...

I've got 40mm Schwalbe Marathon Supremes on my Steamroller. Best tyres ever.
They feel both faster and more comfortable than 32mm Paselas did.
But my fork is a Van Nicholas carbon CX fork with a lot of clearance, and there's not a lot of room to play with at the back.

I had a play on an SS cross check today - don't know why anyone would buy a steam roller
-
• #2164
120 rear spacing for fixed + clean lines yo
-
• #2165
Because you think the Cross Check is better, or because you don't like steel Surly bikes at all?
-
• #2166
Cross Check better (clearances/mounts/versatility), steel surly bikes rad.

• #2167
Fat fixies are great though.

• #2168
Yeah but I mean, you could run a cross check fixed with a disc hub and ISO cog? Even getting back wheel out with guards installed would be easier.... and you could fit much fatter tyres

can anyone confirm? will try stick a bolt in there tomorrow

Make sure you get consent
-

I'll do it when the bike is asleep

I seem to remember asking my LBS about this a while back and we came to the conclusion it's not threaded and just an airhole/vent or something. Dunno if they've change it since but I doubt it.

35c pasela + pdw 45mm guards, disc trucker fork
no close ups but from memory the clearance was a bit tight depending on where the wheel was in the dropout and you couldn't run a rear brake, but other than that, no problems with it.

Wish I still had that bike. Urgh.

Me too, if it was smaller (or steeper st, had the same issue as Ed). It's in a good home though.
Would love to try my cross-check fixed one day
Looks baller with tan-walls! Congrats
