  • Closest I've seen from Maxxis is the Grifter which is available in 2.5, all black though.

  • Still running folding 35mm Kojaks which are fast, grippy and sturdy.

Suppose I should just replace with moar Kojaks, unless there is a more better alternative/good dealz?

  • Thought so. SJS has them for £23.99 each, which looks like the cheapest. I got the first pair for £16.99 each from Chain Reaction last August. Seen any deals?

  • Tubeless kojak in 700 size, anyone tried ?

  • A friend did it with new tires and mavic tubeless mtb wheels, he said it took some effort but managed to do it in the end.

I would opt for g ones or gravelkings though, better tires and not that much more.

  • Good fucking mighty Zeus no! Don't do it. Just get a set of Furious Freds or Thunder burts and set up tubeless. The Twin Rails were fucking horrific to use. They had nothing on even mild gravel and anything about 40psi made them rock hard and immovable.

Genuinely shite experience for over a year. Thunder Burts I'm running now are less than half the weight, run flawless at 30psi, have plenty traction even in the mud, and they've yet to puncture.

If you're desperate for tan-wall, go for the DMR supermoto. Just avoid the twin rails. Please.

  • Rode coast to coast off-road on twin rails, thought they were good.

  • I've done it with the 26x2" kojak with ghetto tubeless but was wondering on the 700 size.

But you're right gravelking could be a better option.

  • Corsa G's are definitely not the go to replacement for Pave's.

I trashed one on LEL, and had already had issues with puncturing on another one. They have a rubbish design, the tread is just glued to the carcass. In this case it delaminated causing the tire to bulge out on the side walls, it could have been nasty if I hadn't noticed before riding off into the remote section in Scotland.

I'm not bothering with them again, has anyone used the Rubino Pro G+ or should I get over my conti hate and get some GP4000's?

  • Marathon supreme TLE are quicker than Kojaks according to the rolling resistance website. They also ride surprisingly nicely.

I wasn't expecting to like them that much but I doubt I will go back to Kojaks now.

  • You can try mine for free. Two rear punctures. Full AAA SR series. Will get you well into autumn.

  • Flatted my 50-559 Marathon Supreme yesterday (tubed). Couldn't really fault it cause the road was all gravel/rocks and downhill. Ridiculously supple tyre

  • Building an ultimate commuter - want a tyre that rides well but has good puncture resistance and most importantly lasts well. Been impressed with folding ribmos, have put a lot of miles in on them, but I'm thinking about marathon supremes. Has anyone used both ribmo and Mara sup that can give an informed view on how they compare?

  • Schwable Marathan Plus

  • wash your mouth .. with bleach

  • That rides well

    Mara plus pls no

  • Been riding loads with S-Ones. No punctures so far, ridden in all kind of roads, gravel, anything. Surely not as durable as Rimbos but would buy again, so good

  • the tread is just glued to the carcass

LOL Exactly same as Paves and Open Corsa and Veloflex etc. etc.

  • LOL Exactly same as Paves and Open Corsa and Veloflex etc. etc.

    ie "Open" tubular construction.

  • Slime inner tubes. Worth it?
Have got some compass bon jons I'd like to use on my new town bike but well aware they're not exactly suited to the task.
Will have better tyres by winter but thought slime might give me a fighting chance round town.

  • slime + compass = marathon plus

  • New Ritchey tyres.
