  • Thanks for the map link, I'm sure we can incorporate it into the ride somehow. Got the book on order, which is a good job as it looks like it's sold out already.

  • Shall we each bring a suitcase with £6000 in monopoly money and then burn it?

  • Could take some time. But bring something (small)!

In the meantime, anyone near kingsland road?

  • Not certain I believe the 'own hand' story.

  • OK, so the initial map is done.

Starting way out east, the first stop is a food and drink place, so if we meet there earlier than the set-off time, we can stock up on pizza and beer for the ride ahead. If anyone still has any other locations to suggest, let me know. Also, we have a lot of spare time on the ride before the projected 3am finish, so I might try to incorporate a pyramid blaster diversion, just for the Strava lols.

By the way, I've left off the Village Productions location as it adds a fair bit of time as it's out on its own in Dagenham, but if popular opinion wants to go there, I'll incorporate it.

  • Looks good. Certainly enough miles for me to cope with without Dagenham!

  • Indeed, though it can be quite a relaxed ride, we might even have time for food and drink stops, and relatively flat too. Happy days.

  • Just realised I've missed off the foundry and kingsland rd locations, will update shortly.

Done now (and it's a shorter route).

  • With all the current nastiness and casual use of noxious substances in robberies, and the fact this ride takes us through Stockwell, I'm considering pulling the start time forward considerably so that 23.08 actually becomes the finish time in Parliament Square (3am will have to take a back burner for now).

    What are people's thoughts?

  • No problem for me either way, it's still the madrugada

  • Indeed. Some added reading

  • So, working it backwards for a 23.08 finish at Parliament Sq., and allowing for a few mins stoppage (and sacrificial burnings) at points of interest, I think we could start with a 19.30 ride-out from Mick's in Hackney Wick, following necessary fuelling. All good?

  • Good with me, looking forward to it

  • Excellent. The spoke cards are coming on well, just need to work on the 'sacrifices' now (more than likely to end up just as cardboard representations)...

  • @marcomarcos, with regards to the Goldhawk road studio, and the billboard site in Battersea, do you know the exact locations? I'm just trying to fine tune the map. Cheers!

  • Townhouse Studio

Battersea Billboard site was about here (it all looks rather different now!)

  • Really hope I can get my family commitments sorted to be able to make this..

  • Thanks for those details, shaves a little more off the overall distance and time. Looking at a leisurely 3 hr ride or so, and thanks for the article, will take great pleasure in reading that.

@hms Indeed, looking forward to seeing you there. Just hoping the weather holds now.

  • Cool - just read that the start time has been pulled forward (possibly) which will make things easier....
Just got to find the old T-shirts (and the 45's if someone has a hipster portable record deck..).

I vividly remember reading the full page ad in the NME saying they were quitting in '92. Computer Science Room 2 at Wyke Sixth Form College in Hull. It was the closest I've got to a JFK moment..

  • Have just updated the official start time and location to reflect the earlier start time.

Yeah, they knew how to run the press. I remember looking forward to them on the Brits '92, then hating their 3am version with ENT, but now I love it, as I still do with the machine gun. Fucking legends.

  • Spoke cards are ready. 'Sacrifices' need to get done next week.
