  • We have used Martin Browne at Gisby twice now and he has been superb.
    But I recall reading that he has since retired, and people 'on here' have had a less then optimal experience with his associates.

  • Cheers, problem solved in the end. Estimated using lots of different online calculators and then added legals and "danger money" of another 10% for taking on the lease extension risk. All agreed now and looks like we might be in by the end of next week!

    Does anyone know if you pay stamp duty on the discounted price that takes in to account the short lease, or do you pay it on the assumed market value with a 150 year lease?

  • Dredging this up as I was looking to see if there was an alternative to recommend to a mate.

    We used Sara Niyazi who is dealing with Martin's clients in the main since he left. At times she was difficult to get hold of on the phone, and it took a while to convince her to email us everything rather than using post. However in hindsight she was ok overall - we were selling two properties with chains and buying into another chain so it was never going to be totally straightforward.
