  • Cheers!
The only other I know is the rather obvious and too-far-from-Falmouth Stein at Padstow.

  • Market Restaurant on Camden Town is closing on Saturday, another victim of the rent rise on Parkway presumably. I managed to get a table for tonight to say goodbye and have the onglet one more time.

  • May your frites be hot, and your vin rouge by the carafe, Sir.

  • Last night we sat at the chefs table at Fischer's Baslow. Amazing food and really engaging staff who were happy to let us have little tastes of components of other dishes they were working on.

Clever use of sous vide to make service easier, such as fennel cooked in Pernod in advance and then seared just before playing up.

Scallops with puréed black pudding were incredible. Lamb chops with seasonal veg was perfect (which included a little patty of shredded spiced lamb shoulder).

  • They were hot and abundant, but it was a bottle of Picpoul de Pinet actually. I had crab to start, so it seemed appropriate, given the weather.

  • off to the Handy Flowers on friday. could do without all the sleb chef noise which i'm cynically inclined to think is used to excuse a multitude of sins, we'll see. not staying the night so no drinking.

  • You'll love it; it is very unassuming and the food is amazing...

  • But what shape are the plates?

  • Comfortably round.

  • H&F. Good, far from great.

the highlight was the 'complimentary' white bait and marie rose sauce. everything else over seasoned and bordering on the overpriced.

won't be going back in a hurry.

  • I concur, went last year and left really disappointed. We'd had it booked for yonks so maybe I'd built it up but compared to other Michelin star restaurants this comes dead last.

  • I am in Hakkasan, waiting for my dining companions.

It's a bit over the top for a Chinese.

  • Hakkasan. Shite.

  • Lols

  • I won an award from work for general badassery so I have a £250 budget for a meal.

Anyone got a recommendation for somewhere posh in Brighton for my wedding anniversary?

  • There isn't anywhere good in Brighton I'm afraid.

Restaurant Tristan is the closest nice restaurant.

I'd go to Gravetye Manor, looks like a lovely location and food seems decent.

  • Just booked myself a birthday blowout at the Hawksmoor in Borough. I haven't been to that one yet.

  • Just got home from that very place. Had dinner with one of the owners in the cooks kitchen. Great vibe. Did enjoy

  • Off to The Araki for my wife's birthday in December

    We are excite

  • Araki

    le jelly. enjoy

  • We just went to Mallorca and visited Marc Fosh, Zaranda and Es Fum.

Zaranda was next level inventive and playful cooking, Es Fum nearly Gordon Ramsey style classic food but with a few modern flourishes.

Fosh was good but not memorable.

  • Went to Bob Bob Ricard the other day.

It restored my faith in London Restaurants.

    Go.

  • Went to Babette in Nunhead a few weeks back on a rare outing sans the sprog. Lovely food, lovely staff and not too spendy. Would recommend.

  • Just been there

It was fucking amazing, never knew that Sushi could be so varied and tasty.
