Can I ask, if you have time, to work out if Samuli's form in the last few days when he started picking up places, would have put him if he sustained it from the start? He appeared to have a slow first few days by bad routing, but then shot up the placings and has finished high in previous years. I wondered this morning if he could have challenged skinny or been top 3 if he had a better start?
Also, can we pinpoint where it went wrong race-wise for Ian To?

In his head?

Ian To lost time when he deviated from skinnys route in Slovenia and went up into Austria instead of in to Hungary and from Austria he then took A meandering route to CP3 which was less direct than that taken by Bjorn and skinny

I suspect most want to continue. Not quit before being told to stop. I had this in a mountain marathon 2005, I beat the time cut off by 1minute, yet there were at least 1000 runners behind me and suspect all got medals and finisher tees when they crossed the line.

Oh yes, it looked like he couldn't decide if he wanted to follow skinny's unusual path, seems a long time ago now! Ta.

In his head?
And his vag, what with all that sand.

Any chance you've got a link?
And massive congratulations. Monstar

Rider 186 Anisa Aubin is on her way towards Romania and CP4 but the heat and relentless headwinds on pan flat roads are crucifying her. She is struggling to find water and food, shops won't accept her euros or her card, and tapwater tastes chemical and is making her retch.
She has lost lots of skin from saddle chafing and finds any position uncomfortable other than standing up and climbing.
She also has ear ache.
Currently holding 21 kph and looking forward to a change in country. I am in awe! -

Well Romania does have its own currency. She needs to get cash.
Saddle issues are brutal, feel for her. Know that situation too well.
-
• #2762
What was that saddle you were riding skinny?
Looked pretty fancy (and narrow)

Glad to read I'm not the only one that thinks it's utter shit
-
• #2765
She isn't in Romania yet, she's still in Hungary!
-
• #2766
I suppose skinny was probably looking ahead.

Couldn't resist but ask them if they failed (as in not finishing and then getting the flight) or failed the people that didn't get a place on their post in the FB group. Bet that will go down well with the cool couriers.
There must be a lot of people that were desperate to race it and didn't get a place

Same shit. Own currency.
It is annoying. I tend to just throw a 20euro note at them and then grab as much as I can and just walk out. Their problem.
Most of the time they're cool.

Ism attack. It's great until the roads get shit.

Go Anisa. Sounds like she is persevering hope she keeps on, over half way now.

Ian has just finished. Congratulations to him. Dalgas 20km out.

Yep, well done Ian, can't bring myself to criticise him while sitting comfortably behind my keyboard, his fellow competitors will set him straight if they think he's been out of order.
-
• #2773
I didn't go to the finish to see him.
Also I called out the mash lads on twitter.
Preparing for shitstorm in 3,2,1. But I have a high moral code and it means a lot to me, respect.

There were a lot of people who wanted to ride the TCR but did not get places. In addition to that, after Mike Hall's tragic death, this TCR was a tribute to him. @skinny showed huge and proper respect for the race. David Coulon is showing huge respect for the race. The vast majority of other riders have as well. What a pity that a few behave like berks, in this year of all years.

Be interesting to see if sandy vag has changed his tune now he's finished. He's had plenty of time for the common sense filter to kick in.
Pretty poor form from mash.
leaches.
Fuck em.
