Yep, hopefully they'll mask it, if not it's not the end of the world. It needs to come off at some point.

Should be ready to pick up tomorrow, the one day I'm not in town. Starting to think it really needs a 24 pack rack from Surly

Stumbling over bartape colour

Black. Stumble no more.

So plain though!
Snapped up some s500 levers so pleased with that. Need to pull trigger on £80 worth of bike refresh now

• #157
Yes, but looks so good with yellow.

@alialias , what kind of finish do you get with Ashton powdercoating, do they mask off well, or is there plenty of cleaning threads and inside the seat tube?
Considering getting my Genesis done and looking round for decent pcers, the ones I've used in Crewe can be a bit hit n miss but stock shit loads of colours. -

I haven't been hugely impressed this time around, found a hair just under the surface on the fork. Had to do plenty of neatening up the little flares of powder around threaded bits on the fork too, and the steerer seems to have been blasted which I'm not happy about. These things won't be noticeable when it's built up so I'm not complaining but worth bearing in mind.

Aye. Seems like powdercoaters can be a bit hit n miss. May stick with the Crewe lot, if I have a problem they're only down the road from me.

Can't fit a large wald 1392 between my handlebars so going for a 1372. Having a look at old pics though, the carrier rack is quite high. It's actually made me wonder if I should raise my handlebars a bit.

Embrace the stack once again

Grasp it with both hands

It needs chopped though. At least some of it, I just don't know how much.

wald 1372 on the way, headset should be installed by this eve

Progress was made, Stella was drank
-
• #168
I repeat; Stella is weasel piss and isn't worth the shittier than average cans in which it comes.
-
• #169
Like the colour. Tis a shame you drink shit beer though, come on, there's far better stuff to quench yer thirst while bike building.

• #171
Are you Mcr based?
If so get yer arse to Chorlton or the arches on North Western st behind Piccadilly station, hipster heaven, crackin ales. -
• #172
The MCR alcohol scene has never been the same since Gaffs lost its licence
-
• #173
That's going back a while. Plenty of decent ale houses though.

Had some difficulty with this last night. Gear cable outer was too wide to fit in my adjustable cable stops. Made it fit by carefully shaving it with a craft knife but isn't the neat finish I'd have liked.
Now my new brake pads don't fit, they push the brake arms out too far. -

Wald basket still hasn't arrived either. Not feeling optimistic about riding this to Bristol next Wednesday. I'm away in Poland for the weekend and tonight is the last real opportunity I'll have to finish it.
Left the crown race on?
