So it reads that his dad is a road cyclist, but had a hip replacement. The dropper post helps him get on and off without having to endure the shame that comes with tilting the bike sideways to get above the saddle or climb onto things, since he'd otherwise risk dislocation of the joint. His dad's 80yo.
I don't really know... Someone on another forum i frequent built the frame + fork for his (elderly) dad so there's probably some thought in it.
