I am selling this unbranded French frameset. Picked it up as a complete bike and harvested the parts I needed.
The original owner had it as his Sunday Best for 20 years ago then hung it up. I acquired it with the pink Mercier I recently sold (same owner).
From what I know - late 1970's, Columbus Aelle steel frame. Likely to have been handmade in France then sold by a LBS as a 'custom'.
53cm square (centre to centre) - no frame numbers spotted & rear Gipiemme dropouts. Internal top tube rear brake routing. Chrome chainstay.
French threaded bottom bracket (35x1) - comes with a usable Shimano one (so french cups and loose bearings. Was fitted with a double chainset.
Unbranded french threaded chrome forks - comes with a usable Stronglight A9 Alloy headset (which I removed for cleaning as I origininally thought it was BSA)
Takes a 26.4mm seatpost - which is currently for sale on eBay
There is some surface rust to address so it would benefit from being acid dipped and repainted / powder coated.
The blue paint marks are anti rust liberally applied by the original owner.
A nice project for someone keen to have a small-ish frame.
I am after £20 only, which is less than what the headset and bottom bracket are worth.

Pick up from Stoke Newington.
