And the 1 1/8 straight steerer doesn't help, it's quite big on my Elephants NFC.

This is where carbon have it's advantage, being able to be overbuild yet still be lighter.

The prototypes have been around for a while. No mention of clearance, and no figure for the BB drop, but all in all it looks good. I might drop them an email...

I don't really know... Someone on another forum i frequent built the frame + fork for his (elderly) dad so there's probably some thought in it.

strong .. rohloff-able?

Fuck knows but if I was set on Rohloff I'd probably opt for a frame designed specifically for it as opposed to trying to fudge mess of brackets and adaptors to make it fit. OEM2 anchor point is by far the neatest solution...
