What you feel is probably the head tube flexing?
And the 1 1/8 straight steerer doesn't help, it's quite big on my Elephants NFC.
This is where carbon have it's advantage, being able to be overbuild yet still be lighter.

Fuck knows but if I was set on Rohloff I'd probably opt for a frame designed specifically for it as opposed to trying to fudge mess of brackets and adaptors to make it fit. OEM2 anchor point is by far the neatest solution...
