Pretty harsh way of looking at it. I think the club are just trying to do the best thing following something a bit nasty that is not their fault. The club (like most) do plenty of good without this so its not like they need it to increase their image: http://www.burnleyfccommunity.org/

I don't think that many fans were expecting a refund. They weren't obliged to give anything per the T&Cs and the club didn't have any choice after the police told them to call it off.
Plus our PR department isn't that good. It may have been a ploy to avoid the admin of dealing with a load of returned tickets though.
So fans feel blackmailed that if they seek a refund they're taking money from a charity, so the club can look good by donating someone else's cash.
