  • The turning force is only that of the friction in the bearings. In practise I doubt it. Over time though, maybe they'd loosen. Who knows. There's a reason why left and right pedals thread differently though

  • To be fair, I am no mechanic, and am always open to criticism and correction, but I think that, practically, there would be very little repercussion (pedal-wise) of me using left-side drive

  • That's why tandem cranksets have inverted threads!
    Get a tandem specific crankset if you really want to go in that direction!
