• There is an awesome tradition at a place called Hill. It started a few years ago, the Women's Institute offered to bake cakes for a cycling club in Cirencester. What was meant to be a one off is now a monthly event through summer, people ride from all over the west country to go and get cake. Today I saw cyclists from Cirencester, Newport, Caerphilly, Bristol, Gloucester and more all descend on a tiny little village. I had two slices of cake and a cup of tea and it cost £3, none of your look mum no friends "cake, flat white and a fucking mortgage please".

On the way home a bee flew into my bonnet on a descent. It managed to sting me before being semi crushed, it was still twitching when I took my helmet off. It now hurts when I demonstrate any facial emotion.

But fuck that, I got two slices of delicious cake and a cup of tea for £3.
