Transcontinental Race No. 5 - TCR5 - #TCRN05 - 2017

Just streetviewed and it looks amazing, it follows the very top of the ridge for about 5 miles before descending into Kalabaka. Great views along the whole thing although I'm not sure Skinny will be appreciating them.

5pm UK time and 69km to go by the most obvious route. 1228m climbing too so it's going to be at least 3 hours from now.

I can't figure out what's going on with Bjorn regards to rest - did he sleep proper last night or push through ala skinny

Bjorn stopped for about 5h last night. There was a tracker update at 0:22 just before Tegoviste (Serbia) and then one at 05:48 a bit further down that road.

He's got an ~8h lead on Jonas so no need to go through the night.

Dussault is homing in on 3rd place Jonas steadily.

I just came home from some bike riding + beer drinking, checking the tracker and seeing @skinny s dot so close to the finish gave me goose bumps...
Am i weird?
I think Skinny is my new spirit animal from now on...

Skinny must be shattered, he's barely slept in the last 2 days.

He must be cycling on pure adrenalin now, which isn't healthy at all. He's going to get there and just pass out for the next 36 hours :)

I'd go further. He's barely slept in 9 days at least... if I only got 3-4 hrs kip a night I'd be a wreck just doing normal person shit, never mind cycling 400km's a day for over a week! Big respect, hope large pizzas and beers and a well comfy bed await you @skinny. Awe inspiring stuff.

Yup, sleep is roughly:

7 hours after 1 day of riding.
7 hours after 12 hours of riding.
4 hours after 1 day of riding.
3 hours after 15 hours of riding.
4 hours after 20 hours of riding.
4 hours after 18 hours of riding.
4 hours after 16 hours of riding.
Almost 39 hours solid riding to now without sleep.

That's pretty much a zombie on a bicycle.

Parcour alone is 15.4km, so more like 30km to go at the moment.
