Gatlin's 'bans' aren't as straightforward as the likes of Coe and the UK media would have you believe.
I'd not put my hand in the fire for him, but I'd not do the same for Bolt either.

Coe's only interested in the Coe show. He'll vary his stance on doping any way you like if it helps further his career and get him in the papers.

This. Gatlin gets booed, Bolt gets lionised. Bolt hasn't failed a test, but the Jamaican authorities have been woeful in their testing, certainly up until the recent past. Given their domination of sprint events from what must be a small pool of talent its hard not to take a dimmish view of their success, Bolt included.
