cheers, really happy. got a bit lucky with you and Neil not turning up and James crashing, and the course (bar the sand pits) and wind suited me I think too but I'll take it. Just hope it's not my peak this season already.

ha ha, it's no problem, I'm not using it at the moment anyway (looks better on you anyway). You wouldn't be able to squeeze your head into my full face helmet, that's for sure.

We fought hard for back of the pack places

I'm second to last I think. Or maybe last - the guy had a mechanical.

On the positive side, I've left plenty of room for improvement.

As first races go that was an odd one

How come? Lack of obstacles and off-camber type of stuff?

All I know is that I would be dead had I geared down, 39x20 was all I could manage in the wind.

if you are thinking oh shit I wish I'd fitted the file treads and there's a paceline on the back straight it's an odd one :)

While I sit on the fence about a new bike.. when's the next circuit that could suit a fixed bike with modest tyres (Gravel King SKs)? Dismounting could be comical & not sure If I'd be allowed to race with bull horns?! Seems I missed out not racing last week.

The final summer series race is at Herne Hill on Thursday. Gravel kings would be fine, not sure on bullhorns, but MTBs are allowed so different handlebar configurations are permitted.

Last one already! May come down and watch then, see if I can slip a pre-race lap in and decide whether to enter on the line.

Dunno, it's looking kinda damp and miserable this week. Wouldn't be too surprised if we have a fairly moist track on Thursday.

High pressure building on Thursday, any moisture will be long gone by race time.

You coming down? Gonna try to enjoy the BBQ and Beers this year.
