NORTH LONDON THUNDER CATS BLACK METAL BICYCLE CLUB

Fixed/Single Speed* overnighter to Deal on the South East coast.

Like Dunwich with less dorks and more interesting things to see.

Ends at pub with full breakfast menu and Kirin pints on tap.

166.6KM mainly traffic-free.
5km gravel + 1km grass sections.
23 tires OK (don't bring road-shoes).

Be self-sufficient and bring adequate clothing.
Apparently the moon is at 96.8%, but good lights are a must.
Beer, spirits, food and sports gels/bars required..

Fast-social pace, nobody left behind.
We want to stick together as much as possible and leaders will wait at non-obvious forks in the road and corners.

(BUT) If you are seriously dragging the group you will be off-loaded at a train station.
There are plenty enroute (including a midnight service from Gravesend) BUT you may have a long wait as trains down there resume at 07:30 on Sunday morning.

LONDON - Woolwich - Gravesend - Rochester - Rainham - Faversham - Whitstable - Herne Bay - Margate - Ramsgate - Sandwich -DEAL

1. Geared riders to the back of field (I want to enjoy the silence of the night without your freehub ruining it)
   
2. On descents give clear warning (on right, stay etc.). Always pass on far right
   
3. Don't sprint off at the bottom of a descent. Slow down and let the group come back together

Journey back is around 2 hours on direct trains with lots of bike capacity.

Shouldn't be more than £20.

Well it was @Ramsaye who suggested the ThNRC invasion of this ride in the thread and @middleofnowhere and @Rod_Munch both looked pretty tempted when it was floated in the pub... The ride name could definitely do with some more letters added.

Yep, definitely on my radar but I have a few things looming that may well fuck up any weekend plans.

So jelly I can't go on this ride again this year. My Auntie's pub is primed for your arrival. Please make sure to leave lovely TripAdvisor reviews for her afterwards!

P.s. She's not around this time as she's away for her birthday but she really loves that you guys end up at her pub, I need to do this ride to thank her for breakfast beers in person! (Whilst drinking a breakfast beer).
