Yes. It's fine. The airflow exhibits the same behaviour even when disconnected from the ducting. That gives me a high degree of confidence that it's not the ducting.
The only thing I can think of is that there is an issue with the fan blades. Howdens though. Not original purchaser. Probably just worth replacing.
