Also, would this headset be 1 1/8 inch and where would be the best place to get replacement bearings online? thanks in advance

Looks like a 1". Measure the diameter of the quill, if it's 22 mm then it's a 1". If it's 25.4 mm then it's a 1 1/8".
As for the BB, I'd venture a guess that the LHS of that spindle looks corroded. Give us some better pics of the races (cups and cones) and we can let you know more.

Hi Hamrack! Thanks so much. Will do that next time I'm in the garage. Is the quill the diameter of the stem shaft, which I could find out by measuring the width of the top locking part of the headset?
