Say you had monday-wednesday off this month and wanted:
- Two nights in a B&B somewhere quiet with pubs
- Train there from london with bike (or within 10-15miles ride to said village from a station)
- Some nice rides in lanes and scenery from said place for 3 days (40-60miles a day)
where would you go?

I'd happily recommend Shropshire. Train to Shrewsbury, sure there are plenty of B+Bs you could find. We used Clun YHA halfway round. Write up here:
