I recently got a used pair of Lake CX402 shoes, wide fit. They feel absolutely amazing, lovely and wide and comfy.
I fitted Look Keo cleats, following the Steve Hogg/Scherrit process. Tested them out on my bike with Exustar Keo pedals. The inside of both shoes rub heavily on the crank arm. The cleats are on straight.
Moved the cleats as far towards the inside of the shoe as possible, got a tiny bit of clearance on one shoe, but the other is still rubbing a lot.
This isn't an issue with my other shoes (Bont Riot and Bont Blitz). Guess it's a combo of the width of the shoes, the lack of lateral adjustment on Look cleats and where the holes are drilled on the shoes...
Are pedal washers a terrible idea? Are other road cleat options better for lateral adjustment? Speedplay the only one?
With recent production Keo 2 Max and Blade (maybe other models too), the thread has been lengthened to permit the use of specific 2mm washers to increase Q.
