In other news:
Put new bars, gear cable and tape on my Arkose. Need a tiny bit of fettling with the mudguards, some flaps, a holder for my Garmin and an indexing.Edit: And I need to trim/shorten the hoses...

No, because it's not paint, it's recessed between the two cups. You can feel it with a fingernail, I think it's some sort of bearing seal. You could probably black it out with some sort of fine marker, though. Tbh, on the bike it's not particularly noticeable.
