buy some Avid Shorties. I use them on my "vintage" mtb icw LX (classic) levers and it has more than enough braking power. I went on a tour through the Alps with that bike with 20 kilo (+ my 75 kilo) of load and never had an issue.

Which ones? 4, 6, Ultimate? I was going to get Shimano CX70s, but I can't find them in stock anywhere and the 50s don't have the cartridge pad holders

Got two used ones nearly new for £50, but you need to search there, and then ask if they ship abroad.
