Indeed a puncture fest. A little surprised how many thought it was ok to fix it in the middle of the road. Of who stopped at the side then with back to the edge leant forwards putting their heads around the right level to get clattered by a passing handlebar or knee.
On my jolly commute in, I infiltrated the route from Walton bridge to Brooklands, and saw no less than 20 upturned bikes. I don't want to invite the fairies, but I have had one puncture in 16months along that stretch, five times a week. What was going on?
Also, saw about 250 people with punctures, from before the start, just after the start and pretty much every mile on the ride.
