  • I am a little bit troubled by all this, and where things are going.

I first became aware of it earlier, I think on The Guardian website, where they basically said the article has been deleted because it expressed anti-semitic views.

Whilst I abhor anti-semitism, and just about all other sorts of prejudice, I'd like to make my own fucking mind up. I would like there to be an open and rational exchange of ideas and views, however horrid some of those views may be.

I believe with coming of the 'information age' ironically ideas are much more carefully monitored than they used to be - there seems to me to be less, not more, freedom of thought. Recent cases where both Germain Greer and Richard Dawkins have been 'no platformed' really, really worry me.

I am not saying that Kevin Myers is anything but a total cunt - just that it is better that he be engaged in some way, rather than deleted. The Bruce Springsteen thing is just fucking weird.

  • There is no "rational exchange of ideas" here. Printing antisemitic trash in a major newspaper gives legitimacy to antisemitism and leads to people's lives being damaged or destroyed.
