Toasting the man.

Ah, me too!
Found a pic of the lot of us on a jolly a few days ago.
Made me chuckle.

Finally got Paul Fiddy's old HED frame together. Maiden voyage was to the pub, so I'm sure he'd appreciate that! It's even still got the Roberto Bicicletta sticker on the ST.
The 105 11 speed group seems pretty solid. Shifts nicely! Will make a good wet weather steed.Hope you're not RIP'ing, and are still causing chaos wherever you be, old man!

Brought a smile to my face.

We need to go to a pub in Paul's honour sometime soon. It's been nearly five years since he died (31/12/09). Sloaney Pony just before Christmas?

Paul died five years ago tomorrow. I'll raise a glass to him.

• #1758
It was the 31st when he passed, so have a drink tomorrow!

My mistake, I'd always remembered it as the 30th for some reason. Thanks. Posts above edited. This means that the drinking has to start early in the morning.

Yep, about 8am if memory serves me correctly. Was meant to be going to work (had stayed overnight on the hospital floor next to him) when he decided to relocate to the velodrome in the skies.

Will be raising a glass to the legend in the shop today. Still missing the stories and his smile.

Just remembering the evening we all went to see him in hospital. It was snowing heavily, wet sleety snow. He was clearly so happy to see everyone. One of this forum's finest moments.
Sadly I missed his funeral as I was in hospital with my buttock. Nine months earlier, the day after my accident, he got in touch and offered me some fresh cleats.

We will be in the usual place tomorrow raising a glass to Paul.

Guys and girls, I need some help here please. My son has just died,he was 22. Fiddy's funeral was without doubt the best send off imaginable and thanks to this fantastic forum, I've already contacted greenendings to make arrangements, but I'm hoping someone knows a humanist celebrant who can lead the service?
I don't know where else to turn, I don't want to pick some random person and I can't recall if the person who led Fiddy's celebration was a friend or someone who does this stuff?
Any help would much appreciated, PM me if you prefer. Thanks in advance.

possibly not much consolation, but genuinely sorry to hear of your loss.

• #1767
He was a humanist celebrant. @alien organised this bit iirc correctly but he is not really on here any longer.
-
• #1768
Thanks James, was his name Paul? I might try Mortlake to see if they have his details.
-
• #1769
Thanks Sham, it is appreciated.

• #1770
Adrian is the guy who organised this. You could ask Mortlake who the celebrant was for Paul Roantree

Who made that? mattbaddesigner?
It looks as if it's from 2009, but I can't remember seeing it before.
We need that on a T-shirt... So to speak...
Good times today... Cheers, Fiddy!
