  • 8 years after I built up my first proper track bike and after a 4 year gap of having on at all I've finally got my hands on a proper NJS frame, a late 2000's Ganwell. When I picked it up last week it had mid-2000 spec fixie-skidder Nitto risers that were way too narrow. I've since put it on much wider Roox risers that are a stopgap until I can figure out what I want. It needs a spinny-er gear for the street but apart from that it's great.

Gorgeous bike, but it's interesting how the pendulum has now swung too far in the other direction regarding bars. Those risers look completely ridiculous on that bike.

  • Thanks. I know that those bars are absolutely not in keeping with the rest of the bike. They are somewhat of a placeholder. The uncut nittos were still so narrow that it was twitchy and hard to crank from the lights. I'll be finding something more fitting but I will say it's incredibly comfortable with them that wide. I kind of feel like, as this bike will never go near a velodrome (or be used how it was intended) I may as well build it in a way that means it's nice to ride.
