Not being condescending but as you said induction.... If you're going to cross the track whilst another session is on please look to make sure it's clear before you cross, don't underestimate riders speed and close the gate behind you. If there are several groups going around at once be prepared to wait several minutes before being able to cross safely.
Most of the time there are cyclists / staff about, I'd be happy locking my bike in the designated space by the pavilion.
