I bought this model but having issues getting the fixings out - is it a case of undoing the bolt and then using a soft hammer?

I took the bolt out half way and knocked it with a hammer so the wedge it threads into comes out, then just pressed the bolt against the flat side of the wedge on the other side and knocked that one out gently.

Doesn't stick now its used, just the first time.
