  • What about a fazer or a hornet @Chak ? Hornet is a de-tuned cbr600 engine right? And either will be less desirable to thiefs than a sports bike especially if you get a cosmetically tired one.

Failed MOT yesterday. One of the rear indicators had blown - managed to get a replacement bulb but then they all stopped working. I'm not good at motorbike maintenance or electrics so no idea where to start and not sure I want to. Booked in for it to get sorted and re-tested next weekend, rear tyre needs doing anyway so getting that replaced as well. Shame as riding over to the garage was an absolute hoot and I was excited to be back of the road after not riding since last summer.

    Sad TM

  • Yes fam! Two wheels good man. Electricals are a bitch, but might just be a shorted fuse or relay. Get it sorted and get on that damned thing again.
This guy is YT famous, but he sure as shit can shred
his CB. Love the way you can go all out throttle without having to worry about losing it.

All in all, tempted by a 04+ FZ6. They're basically detuned R6 engines and can hold their own pretty well.

  • Yeah seen that guy before, they are fun bikes to ride because you can rag them without it getting too out of hand (which I think is perfect for the UK roads and police/speed trap presence)

The mechanic I use, used to race them, and tried to buy it off me yesterday. Can't say I wasn't tempted as fancy a fazer or cb600 myself but have sunk a bit of money into the CB and wouldn't re-coup, also aforementioned reasons and I enjoy the bike - even like it's look.

  • Ha - love that. My mate raced one for a minute back when the CB500 cup was running in the late Paleolithic era. Race compound Bt90s, Micron zorst and rearsets. Very handy on a twisty B road. I could just about get away from him on my 350ypvs but it was very close. (And a lot of fun!)
