  • I've said it before and I'll say it again.
This is my favorite bike of the forum.
    Excellent!

  • @edscoble I'm also now thinking that those mudguards might fit around the Schwalbe Thunder Burt's I'm using (as long as there's enough frame clearance). They're 27.5 x 2.1.

  • Just re-posting as new page deserves another pic of the bike.

  • Rear hose is longer

  • Dodgy rear derailleur cabling too

  • Shifters?

  • awesome

  • Every time I discover a new bike of yours, it is more awesome than the previous. The black theme really suits it. Looks great in its current guise.

  • Fantastic!

  • Dodgy rear derailleur cabling too

Heh, at the moment it's currently stored away until I can afford to overhaul it again, need to rebleed the brakes, sort out shifter (still deciding on whether to stay with double or go for a 1x10 11-42 set-up), overhaul hubs, fit front low rider again etc.

  • It should, especially as the mudguard stay go on the outside enable enough clearance for the knobby tyres.

  • how do you shift or better where?

  • Depends where you ride non? 1x10 with Sunrace cassette works a treat, but for heavy loaded high elevation gains, I'm going to slap a double on there with a bailout gear. What's the geo of the bike?, it looks well proportioned.

  • Dt shifter that isnt attached, as he said the bike needs overhauling

Ed this is awesome. ST could be steeper but guessing you didnt find SMPs before you were fitted for the frame

  • what is rolling resistance like on those tyres on normal roads?

  • ST could be steeper but guessing you didnt find SMPs before you were fitted for the frame.

Exactly and I have a short upper legs which made it even worse, i need a minimum of 74 degrees seat angle, but ideally 75 is much more suitable.

  • what is rolling resistance like on those tyres on normal roads?

The old 48mm tyres were surprisingly fast, mainly because I was able to relax a lots more on descent and able to brake later, take corner harder etc.

I suspect this 60mm will feel nice and smooth, but not race fast.

  • What's the geo of the bike?

    59cm ST (61cm ctc), and 54.5cm TT.

73 degrees head and seat angle.

  • Sounds perfect for me. Let me know when it's up for sale ;)

  • That may actually be the case, gonna squeeze one big tour out of it first (like my Oaks in the coming LEL)

  • No Way! It's such a beauty.
Do you mean you're thinking of selling the Oak too! Or did I read that wrong?

  • Scoble is onto the next thing, 700c 18mm tyres at 150 psi, Paul centre pull brakes, single sprocket on the rear and etap front mech for a 2 x 1 gearing.

  • Mind blown!
I can't keep up. I need to sell all my bikes and start again.

  • ID on that rack plz?
