I'd hope that most people would gladly take a slower ride to work if it meant they could just chill out and read/watch Netflix/leave angry comments on Facebook.
Although I would also imagine that once all motor vehicles are autonomous that journey times would probably go down, despite a lower travelling speed.

Also driverless cars would pave the way to a change in mindset that the journey takes as long as it takes and while it may be frustrating it would be akin to being on a bus in traffic and that frustration would have to be internalised and dealt with maturely instead of transferring it to others through erratic driving behaviour.
people sit quietly for 5 minutes to wait for a platform at bank on the northern line, but lose their shit if they have to pause for 5 seconds behind the wheel of their car.
