    It's a reference to Breaking Away: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breaking_Away.
    The outcast 'Cutters' (sons of unemployed local stone cutters who still hang out at the disused quarry) form a team to take on the arrogant college boys at the velodrome.

    In Canary Wharf though, the Cutters wouldn't be the bank workers. And I would know.

    You'll be saying you haven't seen Quicksilver or En Forårsdag i Helvede next.

  • Ah, I have seen Breaking away- ages ago now though. I thought it was a reference to Stonecutter court, but that's EC4. Also there is, as you point out, no way that the EC1 bunch could draw a parallel between themselves and the group in the film, without scoring a full 10 on the Morissette scale.
