Tell him to cover the mouth piece of that bottom bottle. Unless he wan't to catch the shits.
-
• #778
Fair, but that doesn't make for convenient access!
-
• #779
He's on it, I think. Good tip though.

It's very slightly slower getting a bottle out than with a cage but also very unlikely to be required.
You're also forgetting my setup has feedbags which hold bottles.
The anti-bladder argument ain't doing it for me.
-
• #781
I'm more pro-bottles than anti-bladder ;o
-
• #782
Unlike that lazy student up there I had to pay for my custom bag so I went through all the likely scenarios before deciding the full bag + bladder was the better option. There are some advantages to bottles I miss (squirting at dogs) but I coped in TABR so it's race proven now and I wouldn't go back to bottles.

Why squirt water when you can blast em with pepper spray!
-
• #784
You going for that green monster drink mix in the bladder again hippy? Or a new cocktail? :)

However much it has rained, anywhere in the world, I've always found I've been dryer than people riding with me without mudguards! When it really comes down there's loads of water on the road so they make more of a difference. And you dry sooner when it has stopped, especially at night, as the roads don't dry straight away.
Moist people don't use them but I was really glad I had them last year, and also on IPWR. [freudian typo - meant to write 'most' but 'moist' is better!] -
• #786
Re bottles, if I was doing it this year I'd take an extra one for the first night. Water was hard to come by in France (I couldn't find any) and Germany might be no better.
-
• #788
He was full before you got there, best argument for not riding at the front of the race!
-
• #789
I don't think there's enough 'gas stations' to get me my fix of Swamp Juice™ so I will have to make do with whatever weird shit I find in EU supermarkets, servos, etc.
Anyone know how to say "iced coffee" in Romanian? :)
-
• #790
Three bottles of Tripel Karmeliet in the jersey should get me through the first night.
-
• #792
Moist people don't use them
Obviously.
In before Schick!
-
• #793
You did see his rider, didn't you?
[freudian typo - meant to write 'most' but 'moist' is better!]
I agree, I love good typos.

Anyone know how to say "iced coffee" in Romanian?
Coffee with ice is 'cafea cu gheata'.
Beer is 'bere' but you should be able to handle that one... -
• #795
I've got Google Translate but most people speak English and if they don't I'm fourth dan black belt at pointing at stuff.

and last minute shout if anyone has any roof bars i could borrow for this weekend from london. for a car with inbuilt rails (i think).
nothing like the last minute, leaving tomorrow.
Except if the bladder fails (I've yet to see it happen) you can just put bottles IN the framebag.
Kids these days...
