And an extra 80g saved if you switch the rear mech for a Red one

Sometimes, but not when they're under lacquer...
And the budget wouldn't stretch to a new group set.
Besides, much lighter and I couldn't have ridden Le Tour on it anyway.

Duuuuude. I had my biek serviced and everything! I've got a cough which would put a 20-a-day man to shame...

And I have a gut that puts shame on me, so we'd probably be as shit as each other.
Maybe Saturday evening or early Sunday, weather permitting?

So 46x11-34 works pretty well in the mountains of Andalusia.
This pic was most of the way up a 10km climb starting at that lake, averaging 8% and with a max of 18%. I never felt like I needed a lower gear and I'm a bit fat and unfit at the mo.
I did, however, run out of cadence on some of the downhill bits, but that's probably for the best, going more than 70kmh down mountains is properly outside my comfort zone.
I'm also pleased to report that my Charbon rims didn't explode during a 600m downhill bit in the 32 degree morning sun. They did make a surprisingly loud squeal once hot tho.
Overall 8/10.
-1 for spinning out and -1 for a bit of a scratch on the forks from how I packed the biek for the flight :(

If only there was a way that you could have one chainring for climbing and then a bigger one for descending

On a more serious note, very impressed by the finished article!

Meh. May as well get a triple.

Less epic scenery and better shot of the bike ;)

Why not just get a pinion gearbox?
Looks like a nice place to ride -

That bike is looking totes amazeballs*.
*I'm not entirely sure what totes amazeballs means but based on context I assumed it was good so I'm adding to my idiolect.

It's properly brilliant for riding round here. Smooth tarmac, barely any cars and regular massive 10ft signs telling them to give you 1.5m of room to pass, which they all obey. Most give a little toot when they want to overtake and flash their blinkers when you wave them by. It's almost as though there's a mutual respect amongst people, regardless of their choice of transport.
Not too many bikes either and they're all happy to shout encouragement as they fly down past you going up.
We're staying at a friend's place in Montejaque, but I reckon Grazalema or Ubrique would be optimum for post ride cafes and bars, our village is a bit small.
The only downside is a maximum elevation of about 1200m, so it's not quite the Alps, but the 37 degree midday sun today made up for it.

Oh, and if you ever come this way don't waste a day visiting Gibraltar. It's fucking awful. Like Croydon without the class.
You can get the logos and stuff off with nail varnish remover. Could have saved a couple grams of paint ;)
Bike looks good!
