• lol at the attempts to make this about 'hating' Rapha. If I hated it, I wouldn't buy it full stop and as I've said fuck knows how many times, some things are excellent.

    Rapha used to be contentious mostly because of the price, but the quality of the gear justified it.

    Now it's just incredibly hit and miss what's actually any good or worth the spend, which combined with inconsistent changes to cut and size make it increasingly less likely I'd spend the money there.

    Pointing that out is hardly the rant of the century, is it? Or do some people still live in a bubble of butt hurt indignation whenever their favourite brand has some pretty rational and qualified criticism levelled at it?

  • I think that this is because this the Rapha thread, which is full of aficionados and the v occasional hater. It's not the place to come for even-handed criticism. For that you'll need either the London Review of Books or Dan Savage's sex advice column.
