• Indeed it is! @boredom you getting rid?

  • Well I'm in Ireland but I could post it if you wanted to cover it.

I'll check it in my vernier calipers and get back to you. Might end up being 27.1 but it's definitely not 27.2

  • Chinese seatpost compatible with oval rails. Anyone got one?

  • Sure! Sounds like a deal. PM me when you've found out the actual size :)

  • No, tried with Bontrager oversized set, but different diameter...
Now focusing on the Hylix variant from ebay, it has an 9x7 option. 55 euro.

  • For that price I could just get the genuine enve rail clamp for my post though.

  • Anyone doing a Farsports rim order in the near future (to London)?

  • Any one got a link to a vcls carbon copy aliexpress look like they have cleaned up.
And any reviews? Are they any good

  • Thanks. Have tried Light Bicycle as they had exactly what I wanted.

  • I had one. It slipped quite a bit. The two halves not staying together, meaning saddle was nose up or down. Happened every now and then. Wasn't too light and I didn't notice any comfort improvements whatsoever. But it looked cool so thumbs up from me

  • Also had one. It also slipped a lot. Useless.

  • I've had two. They do tend to slip. You just need to tighten the seat tube bolt really tight and it will hold. Being Carbon it is nerve ranking business. Changing to a different type of clamp helped a lot. With the new one I can now adjust quick release tension with allen key.

  • I'm struggling down there on longer rides (75miles +). Not quite sure what to do about saddle seems to be fine fit.

  • Think the specialized save ones are better than the canyon in terms of comfort. Though I've no experience of legit ones of either. A better seatpost might take out a little bit of road buzz but I can't see it helping drastically. I too get pain on any ride more than even 40 miles or so but I'm well aware that's down to my arse/saddle interface

  • Specialized seatpost is so ugly. Im willing to put up with pain rather then lose vanity points.

  • I have the genuine Canyon with setback (setback obviously will have more spring) and it is great, lots of vertical flex. But if you have back pains it'll probably be more worth looking into the bike fit thread.

If you have lower back pains for me a Brooks saddle helped because I found my butt bones are asymmetric, as the saddle broke in a big dimple on the left side was formed and my longer ride pains have mostly disappeared.

  • I see a lot of ENVE stems appearing on the bay, anyone got a Aliexpress link?

  • I am willing to part with my orient vcls post if I can find a good carbon 27.2 post (ideally matte). oddly I never had any slippage problems and had it for a couple of years now. good post just want to go lighter

  • The enve copies @phildas (I think?) and I have are serving me well, would recommend. Various links on the last few pages.

  • Yep, same one. Well happy with mine too

  • Could anyone recommend a cycling kit store/seller @ aliexpress?

  • Don't bother, if it badly made and falls apart, do you really want to pay for posting that stuff back to China?
Merlin do some decent black budget bib-shorts for <£20. Shop around UK sales for jersey.

  • I bought this model but having issues getting the fixings out - is it a case of undoing the bolt and then using a soft hammer?

  • Trawling for cheap smps and

  • I took the bolt out half way and knocked it with a hammer so the wedge it threads into comes out, then just pressed the bolt against the flat side of the wedge on the other side and knocked that one out gently.

Doesn't stick now its used, just the first time.
