Back from the ride/race last Sunday, I'm not really a person who loves the mountains or falls in love in scenery but I must say Brainçon is a lovely place to ride and travel in anyone is interested in mountains and climbing...because that's all you'll do dammit!!!

Small world! Martin's a top guy and looked after the Ron well.
Agree with @HoKe, scenery was fantastic and I've never enjoyed myself so much on a bike. June mileage in the Kent/Surrey hills paid off and I was very pleased with Sunday's ride. Overall time 6:30, rank 550 out of ~11,000. There was also a King of the Mountains classification, taking your cumulative time over Col de Vars and Izoard, where I ranked 171. Very happy! :)

You beast!!! Kudos!!
I have no excuse than my poor lack of fitness and commitment to track that road bike is another level of pain, especially with an hour of pure climbing which is most people's book is hell!
My time was 7:21, I think after this I will stick to turning left and club/rub runs! ;)

Saw two people in LFGSS jerseys speed past me at separate locations. I started very easy as I didn't want to blow up, finished in 8hr29, 4899th place, but 2606th for the KoM competition.
The scenery is absolutely stunning as previously mentioned.
I also rode up Galibier on Friday. Sadly there is an hour or so gap in the photos on the site, so cannot get hold of one of me. Slightly gutting, I'll have to go back for another!!

Kudos, for me I hate mountains, plus living and riding up the thin and dry air didn't really do dividends on my body! Very jealous of you watching some of the tour when you were there!

I can't help but feel let down that they didn't pick Stage 19 for this year's Etape...
Aspin, Tourmalet and Aubisque in one go? Legendary.
Ha! Where did you get this from? Warming up on the Croix de Fer on Friday. :)
