you can do the A1010 but thats shit and boring...or take the canal from nearer Lee Valley or Picketts Lock down to the Hale..

Yeah, luckily filtered to the front of the queue just as the lights changed this morning but been stuck there for a few minutes before. Hadn't considered avoiding it, what would you recommend?
